In the story, William Tell is an expert archer living in medieval Switzerland. As punishment for defying a tyrannical ruler, he’s forced to shoot an apple off his own son’s head with a single arrow. If he misses, his son dies.
Tell succeeds, of course, but what makes the story stick isn’t just the skill it’s the trust. His son has to stand there and believe completely in his father’s ability and care. And Tell has to live with the weight of that responsibility.
A truly remarkable story of trust and love.
